Synopsis
“Crests of the Soul” is a powerful and authentic feature-length documentary.
After returning from a scientific expedition on a polar sailing boat, Benjamin embarked on an environmental awareness project as a captain and project leader. However, overwhelmed by the enormity of the task, he abruptly left the ship and his crew.
Plagued by remorse, he fell into a period of depression that engulfed him in darkness. His unwavering determination to recover drove him to take on an audacious challenge, blending his passions for hiking and cooking: the Haute Route Pyrénéenne (HRP). An 800 km trek along the Pyrenean crests, with no food resupply.
In his quest for healing through the Pyrenean peaks, Benjamin reconnects with the raw nature of the high mountains, returning to the simplicity of life. He puts his survival skills to the test, combining hunting, fishing, and foraging to reach his goal.
